Please join us at one of the Alliance Civic Engagement Training Institutes scheduled for July 14-16 Kansas City, Missouri, and September 20 - 22 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Members of the Alliance for Children and Families and United Neighborhood Centers of America are eligible for travel stipends. Register here.
This is a key opportunity to learn about incorporating successful civic engagement strategies into your organizational plan. Attendees will learn from several civic engagement and community involvement experts.
Sample Institute Sessions and Discussions include:
- Assessing an organization's ability to integrate civic engagement principles/practices
- Integrating grassroots civic engagement work with formal public policy work
- Building a race and class analysis
- Examining institutional power
- Initiating a civic engagement effort/campaign
- Working with and within multicultural coalitions
- Getting your staff and board to understand and promote civic engagement
- Evaluating civic engagement
- Developing a sustainable civic engagement effort
- Educating and mobilizing voters
There is a $200 registration fee for non-Alliance/UNCA-affiliated participants.
The Institutes are co-hosted by Cornerstones of Care and Family & Children's Service.
